We’d like to draw your attention to the Commonwealth Vision Awards, jointly organised by the Royal Commonwealth Society and the Commonwealth Broadcasting Association, to encourage the development of short film production.

Broadcasters and independent filmmakers from across the five regions of the Commonwealth are invited to submit a written proposal for a short creative film, between 3 - 4 minutes in length, on the theme for 2008, ‘Global Challenges and the New Generation’.

In conjunction with the 6th Student Film and Video Festival 2009 (to be held in January, at UPM), The Festival Committee will be giving a brief introduction to their latest award category - PERDANA AWARD. This new category will showcase the best of short dramas and short documentaries to be produced by students. In conjunction with this category the Committee will brief students on the rules, regulations, funding and prizes involved in this category.

Responsibilities:
- Create and produce simple 2D/3D TVCs and animated commercials for 1 Utama Shopping Centre and its related companies.
- Film production, editing and post production of live events for 1 Utama and its related companies.
- Various related graphic design and animation projects for 1 Utama and its related companies.
- Manage content and scheduling for Channel ONE - 1 Utama’s digital network.

Requirements:
- Candidate must possess at least a min Diploma in Graphic Design and Animation / Creative Multimedia.
- Candidate must be skilled in using Adobe After Effects and Final Cut Pro.
- Skills in using Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Indesign, Macromedia Flash and Dreamweaver is an advantage.
- Candidate must be comfortable in working in a Mac environment and with film production and editing equipment.
- At least 1 year of working experience in a relevant field.
- Interest in retail and shopping centre operations is an advantage.
- Able to work creatively and independently with minimum supervision.
- Self-motivated, responsible, hard working, able to handle multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines.
- Able to communicate and work with all levels of people and in a team environment.
- Comfortable with working standard shopping centre operation hours.

The main objectives are to discover & nurture young talents; encourage creativity & innovation; and promote the importance of protecting intellectual property rights within the Digital Entertainment Industry in Asia.

FreedomFilmFest 2008 is proud to offer a short but sweet video workshop for filmmakers on sharing your video work online.

Presented by Engagemedia, you will gain some background on why it’s important to foster community spaces for video distribution online (why don’t I just use YouTube?) and introduce a range of independent initiatives who form part of the international Transmission network.

EngageMedia will also explain their video-sharing project focusing on social-justice and environmental video in the Asia-Pacific, encompassing a free open source software video-sharing platform, open content licensing using Creative Commons and a collaborative network of video makers producing work about human rights and the environment.

If you’re interested in bypassing corporate and government control of online media, curious to know more about how your intellectual property is handled on the web, or would like to gather some knowledge about converting and uploading video, please come along!
