Over the past month (from 17th June till 24th July), we have been running a greeting card contest with the theme “We Are All Geeks”, challenging designers to come up with a new generation of greeting cards aimed at the geek inside everyone of us.
In a nutshell, the response has been amazing. After moderation for content and quality, we have ended up with 73 awesome entries, and we don’t know where to begin picking a winner! That’s why we need your help in rating these designs, from now until the 26th of August 2008. After that, we’ll award the RM7k worth of prizes to the Top 5 highest-rated cards.

To make someone HAPPY!
Enveluv is a free web to postal service where you can send a physical greeting card or letter directly from your web browser to someone’s postal address for absolutely free. Basically, you just have to register at Enveluv, pick a greeting card, type a personalized message, and fill in the recipient’s address and you are done! Cards typically arrive within 2-11 days, depending on the location.
Enveluv is planning to introduce quite a few more designs in the coming months, so if you are interested to contribute some designs, do contact them at info@enveluv.com. I’ve seen their previous cards, and they make it a point to credit the designers at the back of every card. So its great exposure especially for design students.

Autodesk, in association with the Educational Department of Kolej Komuniti & Politeknik, Ministry of Higher Education along with Design Technology Alliance (M) Sdn Bhd presents the 3rd AutoDesk Design Competition 2008. To be joined specially for higher educational intitute. This competition is also supported by HP.
With the theme of “Urbanisation in Design“, this competition is divided into two categories. Building Design and Manufacturing Design. Win prize money worth RM70,000. Closing date of participation is April 20th 2008 (HOHOHO!).

Bank Negara Malaysia will commemorate its 50th Anniversary on 26 January 2009. In conjunction with this, the Bank has launched a nationwide Commemorative Coin Design Competition.
The objective of this competition is to seek a design which best reflects Bank Negara Malaysia’s role in nation building. The winning design entry will be used to mint and produce the 50th Anniversary Commemorative Coin.
The winning entry will receive a RM20,000 cash prize and consolation prizes of RM1,000 will be awarded to each of the ten (10) shortlisted entries. The competition is open to all Malaysian citizens aged 18 and above.
